ABOUT US
The Plug-In Solar Conference is held by the German Association for Plug-in Solar (Bundesverband Steckersolar e.V. / BVSS). Under the roof of BVSS, companies, organizations, and individuals are actively shaping and driving the transformation of the legal and regulatory framework to facilitate the use of balcony solar systems in Germany. These efforts have benefited both consumers and industry stakeholders, making plug-in solar technology more accessible and widely accepted.
The association’s activities are rooted in the firm belief that plug-in solar systems are a key enabler in achieving three primary goals:
- 100% Renewable Energy
Ensuring that the total energy demand is met through solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and bioenergy. - Maximum Decentralization of Energy Production
Creating a secure and stable energy supply while allowing individual citizens to actively participate in and benefit from the energy transition. - Encouraging Energy Awareness and Behavioral Change
Helping people adapt their energy consumption to the availability of renewable energy, fostering a more conscious approach to electricity use.
This conviction is based on extensive experience: Generating and using self-produced renewable energy fosters greater public acceptance of the energy transition. Balcony solar systems make this possible for a much larger number of people than any other technology.
BVSS’s Commitment to Expanding Plug-in Solar Adoption
BVSS’s core mission is to expand the user base of balcony solar systems by reducing bureaucratic barriers, strengthening consumer rights, and ensuring the widespread availability of clear and technically accurate information.
Additionally, sustainability remains a key focus: Quality, safety, local value creation, and innovation are central to the entire product and service ecosystem of plug-in solar technology. BVSS also advocates for a fair and balanced market development, ensuring that all industry players who share these values can thrive.
As part of its initiatives, BVSS supports projects aimed at enabling citizens across the EU to benefit from balcony solar systems.
